6 people were killed in a Thai police plane crash in the sea

A small Thai police plane crashed into the sea near a famous coastal town, killing all its six passengers, according to officials.

A spokesman for the Thai Royal Police, Artchion Craithong, said that the plane was experimenting with preparation for umbrella training in the Hua Hin area before it crashed around eight o’clock this morning, local time (01:00 GMT).

Officials have not yet disclosed the plane model, but it seems that the photos from the scene showing a Viking DHC-6-Eter plane.

The Public Relations Department of the Bratchwab Curry Khan Province said the plane was crashed near Hua Hin Airport.

The photos show that the plane crashed into the sea about 100 meters from the beach. The fuselage looked up to two halves.

Archeon said that all the six people on board were police officers, adding that five of them were killed at the scene, and one of them later died in the hospital.

The cause of the crash has not yet been known. Archeon said that officials collect evidence, including data from the Black Fund of the plane.
