In exchange for concessions .. Trump suspends customs duties on Canada for 30 days
These customs duties were scheduled to enter into force at midnight, according to what Trudeau announced on the “X” platform.

“The proposed customs duties will be suspended for at least 30 days while we work together,” Trudeau said.
He continued: “Canada in return agreed to make concessions on border security.”
This announcement came after a phone call by Trudeau with US President Donald Trump on Monday.

In the same context, Mexico President Claudia Shinbom announced the freezing of American customs duties on Mexican goods for a month, and deployed 10,000 Mexican soldiers on the border between the two countries.
