Saqr Ghobash and Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament holds a session of talks

Abu Dhabi, February 4/ WAM/ His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, President of the Federal National Council, held an official talks session with His Excellency Ahmed Al -Safadi, Chairman of the House of Representatives in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan today at the headquarters of the Council in Abu Dhabi, who is visiting the UAE with an official invitation from the Council.

During the talks session, the two sides confirmed the strength of historical and rooted relations between the two brotherly countries led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him and His Majesty King Abdullah II, King of the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

During the session, various aspects of cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in various fields were discussed, in a way that achieves the vision of the leadership of the two countries and the aspirations of the two peoples and reflects brotherhood relations and rooted cooperation that was established more than five decades ago and represents a unique model in relations between countries.

The session was attended by His Excellency Sultan Salim Al -Zaabi, Chairman of the Friendship Committee with the Jordanian Parliament, Hashaima Yasser Al -Afari, Vice -Chairman of the Committee, Salem Rashid Al -Muftik, Aisha Al -Dhahani, Hilal Al -Kaabi, members of the Federal National Council, His Excellency Dr. Omar Abdel -Rahman Al -Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Council, and His Excellency Afra Al -Basti, Secretary -General The assistant for parliamentary communication, and His Excellency Tariq Ahmed Al -Marzouki, Secretary -General for the Presidency of the Council, along with His Excellency Nassar Al -Habashneh, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the state.

The two sides stressed the importance of strengthening parliamentary relations between the two brotherly countries and coordinating positions on various issues of common concern, foremost of which is Arab national security in light of the distinguished relations that bring the two countries to various levels.

His Excellency Saqr Ghobash welcomed the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the accompanying delegation and said that the United Arab Emirates and the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan are linked to distinguished relations based on strong foundations of history and common interests founded by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the late King Hussein bin Talal since the beginning of the seventies The twentieth century was an exceptional example of Arab-Arab relations. .

His Excellency Saqr Ghobash stressed the importance of promoting and developing joint parliamentary cooperation and work between the two brotherly councils, especially by activating the role of the Joint Parliamentary Friendship Committee, and building on what has been accomplished, in order to achieve the highest levels of coordination and consultation on issues and issues of common concern, and establishes the foundations of joint Arab action It serves the hopes, aspirations and interests of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, noting in this regard with the memoranda of understanding signed between the two sides, especially in the field of exchanging visits, knowledge, expertise and parliamentary practices, and benefiting from the leading experience of the two councils in the fields of legislation and oversight.

His Excellency pointed to the UAE’s fixed position and its humanitarian approach calling for the necessity of delivering humanitarian aid to the needy and permanently without obstacle, to end the difficult humanitarian conditions experienced by innocent civilians for more than 15 months, stressing the UAE continued its diplomatic, humanitarian, and relief efforts with the support and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “may God protect him”, to lift the suffering of the brothers in the Gaza Strip.

For his part, His Excellency Ahmed Al -Safadi stressed that the relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan are a prominent model in the close bilateral relations, which are based on the bonds of common history, goals and unified visions. In the two brotherly countries and their common belief in the necessity of unification, coordination and joint action in facing the current challenges.
