A 6.2 Richter earthquake hit the Northern Kings Islands in Indonesia

An earthquake of 6.2 on the Richter scale struck the area off the coast of the Northern Kings Islands, Indonesia.

The Indonesian Geophysics Agency reported that the earthquake was at a depth of 81 km, excluding that it would lead to strong tsunami.
There were no immediate reports of human or material losses as a result of the earthquake.
