Emirati mediation between Russia and Ukraine launches 300 prisoners

The UAE has announced the success of mediation efforts made between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Ukraine, in the completion of the process of exchanging a new war prisoner, which included 150 prisoners from the Ukrainian side, and 150 prisoners from the Russian side, with a total of 300 prisoners, bringing the total number of prisoners who were exchanged between the two countries in These mediations to 2883 prisoners.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs appreciated the cooperation of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Ukraine in the success of Emirati mediation efforts and the completion of the prisoner exchange process, which reflects their appreciation for the role of the UAE as a reliable mediator.

The ministry pointed out that with the success of the new mediation, the number of Emirati mediations that have been completed reached 12 mediations since the beginning of 2024, which indicates the distinguished respect and relations that bring the UAE to the two countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the UAE will continue to work to support all diplomatic efforts to reach a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine, and to alleviate the human effects resulting from the crisis such as refugees and prisoners.
