Dubai Municipality adopts smart systems in the urban planning of the city

Dubai February 11/ WAM/ His Excellency Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality, said that the municipality focuses on several important aspects related to the development of Dubai using modern technologies and smart services, with the aim of improving urban planning and providing effective solutions that contribute to raising the quality of life for the population .
His Excellency added, on the sidelines of the first day of the World Summit of Governments currently in the city of Jumeirah in Dubai, that the Dubai Municipality seeks to integrate data related to buildings with economic data, and this includes information about residential and commercial buildings with other economic data, such as market indicators and economic activities He explained that through this initiative, the private and public sectors can use these data to develop their systems and services, in a way that benefits citizens and residents in Dubai.
He touched on the use of smart systems to design cities where the focus was on the use of smart systems in urban planning, especially in the “Urban Plans 2040” plan, which contributes to improving residential neighborhoods and major complexes in Dubai.

He pointed out that the Dubai Municipality seeks to use modern technologies to improve the lifestyle in residential complexes, such as the use of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things to provide proactive and smart services that help facilitate cooperation between the public and private sectors to provide automatic services for buildings, which enhances comfort and efficiency.
He stated that for the strategic partnerships that Dubai Municipality worked during the summit, signing an agreement with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), in order to enhance food safety and adhere to health standards, and the partnership focuses on using the best technologies to ensure health and safety in the field of food, which reflects the state’s interest in achieving Food safety and product quality.
Regarding the modern urban planning of the Dubai Municipality, Ibn Ghalita stressed that the Dubai Municipality continues to work to develop urban plans to include modern technologies in cities design and these plans include the use of the latest methods in building design, which enhances the optimal planning of the city, pointing out that the sustainability of these designs contributes In improving the quality of life for citizens and residents, they meet their future needs within the framework of a smart urban environment.
