I will not impose a plan to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip

US President Donald Trump said he will not impose his plan for the United States to control the Gaza Strip and redevelop it into a tourist destination and displace the Palestinians from it.
Trump said in an interview with “Fox News” on Friday: He still believes that the plan is a new idea and that he was “surprised” for Egypt and Jordan to deal with it negatively in light of receiving financial aid from the United States.

Trump is retreating

“I tell you, my plan is the best way to do it. I think it is the plan that will really succeed, but I will not impose it. I will just back down and I will recommend it.”
Trump had said earlier that he would not threaten to cut financial aid from Egypt and Jordan if they did not agree to receive more refugees from Gaza.
