A new change in football rules … a corner kick for the goalkeeper!

The Evab Football Association Council approved a change in the rules by calculating a corner kick as a penalty for the goalkeeper who keep the ball for more than eight seconds.
The current rules state that the goalkeepers who keep the ball for more than six seconds will be counted for the competing team, an indirect free kick, but this decision was ignored by the referees most of the time.
A number of competitions this season witnessed an experience that allows the goalkeepers to keep the ball for eight seconds, as the referee refers to the last five seconds by raising his hand.
The International Federation Council said in a statement after its annual meeting in Belfast: “The amendment means that if the goalkeeper keeps the ball for more than eight seconds (with the referee using the apparent countdown to a period of five seconds), the referee will give a corner kick to the opposing team (instead of the current free kick for more than six seconds).”
The International Council also supported the International Federation’s plan (FIFA), which is to wear referees for cameras during the World Cup next year as part of the direct transmission of matches.
