Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau today accused the United States of launching a trade war by imposing fees, and pledged to take more revenge measures.

“The United States today launched a trade war on Canada, its closest partners and allies, and its closest friends,” Trudeau told a press conference.

He added: “The Canadians are logical and we are polite, but we will not retract the war when our country and the welfare of all those in it are in danger.”

“It is not my habit to agree with (Wall Street Journal), but Donald, they point out that although you are a very smart man, it is this step very stupid.”

Trudeau pointed out that the US government decided to make the everyday life of the Americans more high, pointing to the disturbance of exchanges and inflation, which made it clear that it is scheduled to rise in an exciting way.

Trump imposed 25 % fees on American imports from Canada, and Mexico as of Tuesday, in adherence to a pledge that he had previously made.

Trudeau announced a fee of similar rate (25 %), on the wanted of $ 155 billion ($ 107 billion) from the United States, adding that Canada is determined to take additional measures to show Trump “that there are no winners in a commercial war.”

Trump vowed on Tuesday an additional increase on the customs duties he imposed on Canadian goods if Ottawa responded.

“I hope that you explain to the governor of Canada Trudeau that when he imposes reprisals on the United States, our mutual fees will immediately increase the same amount,” Trump wrote on his platform Truth Sushl after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the imposition of customs duties by 25 percent on American commodities.
