Dubai launches the first global entity in the exhibition and events management sector

The Dubai World Trade Center and the Informa Group announced yesterday, the signing of a strategic partnership to launch a leading global entity in the exhibition and events management sector, which works across the Middle East, South Asia and Africa regions.

This partnership combines two equal commercial entities, with high complementarity assets and capabilities, to lead to the creation of a new company under the name “Informa International”, which will work at full operational capacity by the last quarter of 2025.

The Dubai World Trade Center stated, in a statement, that the new company will be based in Dubai to serve the major regional markets in the meeting, incentives, conferences and exhibitions sector, in addition to benefiting from its expansion capabilities to export its large commercial signs to global markets.

This step comes within the framework of the Dubai World Trade Center’s commitment to double the contribution of the meeting, incentives, conferences and exhibitions in the GDP, to reach 54 billion dirhams annually by 2033, in line with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agency (D33), by attracting investments and empowering cross -border trade, through leading commercial activities.

The partnership also aims to enhance Dubai’s position as a global capital of business, and to consolidate its position a favorite destination for the meeting, incentives, conferences and exhibitions worldwide.

Informa International will include a wide range of events, including exhibitions, conferences, specialized exhibitions, vocational training programs and credits, by integrating the work of the Dubai World Trade Center and “Informa” in Dubai and partner markets. This partnership will result in a leading market company with revenues exceeding $ 700 million, with dual growth capabilities driven by expanding outside Dubai and the Middle East to the fastest growing global markets.

This partnership provides new opportunities to export brands of the Dubai World Trade Center to the fastest growing global markets in the commercial activities sector, including the Indian subcontinent, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa.

The new partnership will also strengthen Dubai’s position as a global business center, by attracting major events from more than 100 specialized global brands affiliated with “Informa”, which supports Dubai’s economic strategy, especially in light of the promotion of the new exhibition infrastructure and events at the Dubai Exhibition Center starting in 2026.

“The Dubai World Trade Center played a pivotal role in consolidating Dubai’s position as a favorite global destination for the meeting, incentives, conferences and exhibitions sector,” said Hilal Saeed Al -Marri, Director General of the Dubai World Trade Center, said.

He added: «With our leading activities, such as (GITEX) and (Galvood) internationally, along with the strong (Informa) portfolio from exhibitions in the supplementary sectors, this partnership comes to serve as a transformative power of cross -border trade, which contributes to creating a sustainable value for the sectors and economies that we strengthen with commercial activities.
