The number of injuries with monkey chickenpox has increased to 24,272 injuries since the beginning of 2025 AD.

He pointed out that during the past week, 2610 new cases were recorded, including 664 confirmed cases and 45 deaths.

A healthy emergency

It is noteworthy that the African Center for Diseases Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization announced during the month of August that the outbreak of monkey chickenpox in Africa represents a general health emergency.
A joint continental response plan was launched with the World Health Organization, with a budget of about $ 600 million for a period of six months.
