At a depth of two kilometers … an earthquake of 4.4 degrees hit Napoli in southern Italy

The area surrounding the city of Naples in southern Italy was exposed to an earthquake in the early hours of Thursday morning, according to the National Institute of Geophysics and Flag of Volcanoes, which was estimated at 4.4 degrees.
This tremor is equivalent to the strongest earthquakes in the region during the past forty years, which was recorded in May last year.
The earthquake took place around 0125 am (0025 GMT), and its center was determined in the sea off the coast of Naples at a depth of two kilometers.
On the other hand, the American Geological Survey estimated the earthquake force at 4.2 degrees.

An active volcanic area

According to the Italian News Agency, the residents felt the tremor in a wide range around Napoli and Campi Fleejri, an active volcanic area a few kilometers from the city center located in the south of the country.

Fire teams reported that they saved a person who was alive after a roof of a house in Bouzouli, the main city of Fleejri.
Sections are still ongoing to ensure that there are no other people under the rubble.
The region had recently seen a new wave of earthquakes, as it recorded larger earthquakes.
