The Russian army regains control of the largest city in Kursk

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today, Thursday, the restoration of control over Soda, the largest city in the Corsak Province, which was swept by the Ukrainian forces since the sudden attack by the border in August 2024.
This declaration comes at a time when Russian forces are approaching the expulsion of the Ukrainian forces from their last strongholds in the Kursk region.

Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the military command headquarters in the region yesterday, Wednesday, where he spoke to military leaders.

The Air Force in Ukraine announced today, Thursday, that the Ukrainian air defenses shot down 74 out of 117 hostile aircraft fired by Russia on Ukrainian lands last night.

He explained that the Russian forces launched attacks on Ukraine, during the night, using a “Alexander-M” ballistic missile fired from the Corsak region and 117 drones.
It was launched from the regions of Chatalovo, Melrovo, Kursk, Bransk, and Primorsko-Takhzarsk, according to the Ukrainian National News Agency “Yokrinform”.
