"once upon a time" Book donation doors open for children in disaster and crises areas

Sharjah, March 17 / WAM / The “Yama Kan” initiative, which is organized by the Emirati Council for adolescents, continues to receive books donations for children in areas that suffer from crises and disasters around the world, with the aim of providing high -quality stories for children who face difficulties in reaching education and entertainment sources due to difficult humanitarian conditions.
The campaign, which started in 2015, was able to collect and distribute thousands of books over the past years, and this year continues in a number of participating libraries in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, where those wishing to donate books can visit public libraries in Abu Dhabi, including the Zayed Central Library in Al Ain, Al Bahia Library, Khalifa Park Library, Al Wathba Library, and Port Library, and in Sharjah can be donated through the library Sharjah General, Khorfakkan General Library, Kalba General Library, Dibba Al Hosn General Library, Wadi El Helou’s Public Library, in addition to the House of Wisdom, and the College of University Horizon.
Marwa Al -Aqroubi, President of the UAE Council of Recreen books, said: Since the start of the campaign 10 years ago, we have witnessed a great interaction of members of society, who contributed through their donations to provide books for children who lack these valuable sources around the world, calling on everyone to participate and contribute to more books that will have a great role in providing knowledge and entertainment for children in the areas most in need.
She emphasized that the campaign has proven its ability to overcome geographical and cultural borders and reach children in crisis and disaster areas thanks to the ongoing partnerships with local and international institutions, noting that the initiative seeks to sow the seeds of love of reading and learning in children in light of the most difficult conditions, and building a generation capable of facing future challenges not only through knowledge but also with the hope that these books provide him.
The campaign for children in crisis and disaster areas provides directed books aimed at achieving a balance between education and entertainment, as young people give an opportunity to move away from the harsh conditions they face and give them a new window for hope that helps them in psychological recovery and develop their capabilities, and the campaign is witnessing an increasing interaction from different groups of society, which reflects the commitment of the UAE to enhance the culture of giving and human solidarity at the world level.
