Community Development Department – Abu Dhabi provides homes benefiting from the social support program with sustainable energy and water

Abu Dhabi, March 20 / WAM / The Community Development Department – Abu Dhabi, with the support of the Energy Department – Abu Dhabi, and in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority, and the Community Contributions Authority – together, an initiative aimed at modernizing the outstanding devices for electricity and water in homes for 150 beneficiaries of the social support program in the emirate, by providing homes with solutions that contribute to reducing the consumption of electricity and water with greater efficiency and effectiveness.
The initiative reflects the commitment of these bodies to enhance awareness of preserving the emirate’s resources and rationalizing its consumption, and adopting practices that establish the concepts of sustainability, and enhance social welfare, by providing homes with high -performance tools and devices to rationalize water and electricity consumption, which achieves the balance between sustainability and the comfort of families, and limits great costs.
And 150 beneficiaries listed with the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority, to benefit from the implementation of modernization operations for their homes, and they will be able to choose between three plans that include traditional, modern and smart options, designed to ensure the provision of sustainable sustainability solutions for each house and the initiative contributes to providing the total value of the bill.
The project is a qualitative step to spread environmental awareness and community education, and falls within the framework of implementing the vision of the community development circle – Abu Dhabi, and activating its role, and reflects its commitment to improving the quality of the lives of beneficiaries of social support services, and cooperation with partners through social, governmental and private sectors, to ensure that they obtain tools and programs that contribute to promoting and raising the quality of their lives.
Sheikha Al -Hosani, Executive Director of the Monitoring and Social Innovation Sector in the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi said that one of the most important goals of the community development circle is to establish a culture of sustainability among all segments of society, and to raise awareness of the role that each individual plays in protecting the environment and preserving its resources and to ensure the prosperity of the Abu Dhabi community for future generations, we must find more effective methods to integrate the practices that are friendly to the environment in our lives in our lives. Daily, and make a positive change on the personal, family and community levels, with unifying efforts to work together in order to build a more sustainable future.
She added that the launch of the modernization project confirms the continuous commitment to support comprehensive and sustainable development in Abu Dhabi, and is consistent with the state’s efforts to support sustainability and address environmental, social and economic challenges, and contributes to finding solutions to these challenges.
For his part, Eng. Ahmed Jumaa Al Falasi, Acting Executive Director of the Energy Energy Sector in the Energy Department, said that this initiative supports Abu Dhabi’s strategy for energy and water efficiency 2030, and enhances commitment to social sustainability and encourages society groups in Abu Dhabi to change their daily behavior to rationalize water and electricity consumption and reduce waste, while improving the quality of life for the targeted families.
Al -Falasi added that this initiative is in line with the community of society, and by involving 150 beneficiaries of social support, which fall within the category of the most electricity consuming, it contributes to achieving annual electricity savings of up to 3,000 megawatts, which is an energy equivalent to lighting 150 houses for a full year, and reducing carbon emissions to about 1,300 tons annually.
In turn, Qasim Al -Hashemi, Executive Director of the beneficiaries’ affairs sector at the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority, said that the involvement of families and their positive interaction in sustainability programs and adopting their principles is an important pillar to make a positive, long -term change, and this initiative makes simple changes that take into account the preservation of the environment and natural resources, and limits expenditures, which supports our efforts in harnessing sustainable solutions to support support Benefit families, and contribute to reducing their financial expenses.
He added that through the use of energy -saving lamps and sustainability practices, we have shown all members of society their ability to contribute to a positive environmental impact and describe the initiative as an opportunity to raise environmental awareness, and highlight the importance of work to improve financial resources, which is reflected in the quality of the life of members of society.
For his part, Faisal Al -Hamoudi, Executive Director of the Social Investment Fund in the Community Contributions Authority, said that the social sector is one of the main sectors that the authority takes over financial contributions in its favor, and we are all confident that this project has a sustainable positive impact on all members of society, and it joins sustainable practices in Abu Dhabi, and for this the Authority gathered financial contributions to support this project, because of its social impact on the beneficiaries and society.
