Mexican navy thwarts smuggling 4.5 tons of cocaine

The Mexican Navy intercepted a smuggling boat carrying 4.5 tons of cocaine off the coast of the country on the Pacific Ocean, according to security authorities on Thursday.
The soldiers arrested the boat after a hunt, about 103 km southeast of the city of Cabo San Lucas at the southern edge of the Bacha California tourist island, according to the authorities, and four suspects were arrested.
Security Minister Omar Garcia Harfoush wrote on the X platform, where a video clip of the operation participated, that the Mexican authorities confiscated 31 tons of cocaine at sea within a little more than five months.
