Dubai Police seizes 127 bears in possession of more than 50 thousand dirhams

The administration of the suspects and criminal phenomena in the General Administration of Investigations and Criminal Investigation in Dubai Police, in cooperation with the police stations in Dubai, seized 127 bears in the first half of Ramadan, and found in their possession money amounting to more than 50 thousand dirhams.

This came as part of the “Explifying begging” campaign launched by the General Command of Dubai Police in cooperation with the strategic partners represented by the General Administration of Residency and Foreign Affairs in Dubai, the Dubai Municipality, and the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Action in Dubai, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of preserving the civilized image of the state by combating the crime of begging and preventing it.

Colonel Ahmed Al -Adidi, Deputy Director of the Criminal and Criminal Phenomena Department, stressed that the campaign to compete begging is one of the successful campaigns, which contributes to reducing the numbers of beggars annually due to the strict and firm measures taken against the seized beggars.
Colonel Ahmed Al -Adidi explained that the Dubai Police is annually developing an integrated security plan to combat begging in cooperation with the partners, by intensifying patrols in the places expected to be the presence of beggars, indicating that the phenomenon of begging threatens the security of society, offends the image of the state, and defines its civilizational appearance.

He pointed out that the problem of begging is related to other crimes such as theft and failure, the exploitation of children, patients and people of determination to beg to achieve illegal gains, indicating that there are official bodies, bodies and charities that anyone can resort to to request financial assistance or to obtain a “fasting breakfast” and others.


New methods

For his part, Captain Abdullah Khamis, head of the begging department, stressed that there are people who explain the reason for their need for money, and this matter is illegal, and is punishable by law, calling on members of society to contribute to the positive contribution with the security services in reducing the phenomenon of begging, by donating their alms to the charitable bodies and associations, so that they ensure that they reach the beneficiaries of the poor and the needy, The reason for the spread of crimes committed by beggars under the begging cover.

Captain Abdullah Khamis called for not responding to begging beggars, or dealing with them with the feelings of compassion and kindness to their appearance, and to help the police with immediate reporting of any beggars that are monitored anywhere on the communication center (901) or through the “police eye” service available on the smart application of Dubai Police, along with the E-CRIME platform on receiving the reports of members of the public related to electronic crimes in a way Series and easy through the link www.ecrime.ae.
