The weekly Deir Spiegel magazine said that the German customs confiscated the ship and its cargo, but the officials refused to confirm this, saying that “customs procedures have not been completely completed.”

The report stated that customs officials seized the “Evenin” ship, which raises the flag of Panama, and the value of its load is 40 million euros last week off the island of Rogen in the Baltic Sea, where it was anchored since January.

The news magazine added that the authorities are working to determine how and the place to pump crude oil safely from them, and the fate of the carrier.
The authorities only confirmed that the ship was prevented from sailing.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Finance said, “The customs procedures are ongoing, and given the current security situation, we cannot comment at least on this issue,” said a spokesman for the Ministry of Finance.

European sanctions on Russia

But a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry accused Russia of using such ships “to overcome Western sanctions, and thus financing its aggressive aggressive war against Ukraine.”

Another spokesman, Sebastian Fischer, said that Germany and the European Union “are tirelessly to impose more sanctions on the Russian shadow fleet.”
Security analysts confirm that Russia occupies hundreds of ships to evade the sanctions imposed by Western countries on their oil exports because of its invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
