The European Commission has revealed a new strategy with the aim of enhancing the willingness to counter crises across the European Union.
It includes plans to provide school lessons on how to deal with emergency.

Strategy to confront crises in Europe

According to the proposal, students throughout the European Union will learn how to face crises such as natural disasters and cyber attacks.
The Commission also suggested adding “preparation” lessons to the school curriculum in schools, and providing students with the necessary skills to face misleading information and manipulating information.
The initiative is part of a broader strategy presented in Brussels, and it still must obtain the approval of the European Union member states and the European Parliament.

Threats in Europe

According to the Commission, Europe faces increasingly complex threats, and the Commission said in a statement, “starting from increasing geo tensions, conflicts and hybrid threats, cybersecurity, manipulation of foreign information, intervention to climate change and increasing the pace of nature disasters, the European Union needs to be ready to protect its citizens.”
In order to face these challenges, the European Union has set 30 major measures and a detailed action plan with the aim of improving dealing with crises. “The new reality requires a new level of preparation in Europe,” said UNHCR, UNHELA UNHCR, Ursula von der Line.
“Our citizens, member states and our actions need the correct tools to move to prevent crises and deal quickly if a disaster occurs,” she added.
