Despite the extinguishing efforts, the Karachi fire is still burning after more than 35 hours

The fire, which broke out during the work of deep excavation in the Kurranji crossing area in the coastal city of Karachi in southern Pakistan, is still borrowed and out of control, today, even after more than 35 hours of its outbreak.
The Pakistani news channel “Jio” reported that the fire had erupted in the early hours of yesterday morning, when a local construction company was digging a tubular well at a depth exceeding 1100 feet.

The chief firefighter official, Humayoun Ahmed, stated that methane gas leaks from under the ground with great pressure.

He explained that the attempt to put out the fire at this stage may cause the spread of gas throughout the region, which may endanger the local population.

The fire cannot be controlled

Ahmed stated that the fire can only be controlled after gas pressure has declined.
He pointed out that extinguishing such fires may sometimes take between two and three days.
