Trump threatens to “bomb” Iran if an agreement is not reached with it
US President Donald Trump has vowed to bomb Iran if it continues to develop its nuclear program.
In an interview with a journalist in the NBC network, Trump said, “If they do not sign an agreement, there will be bombing,” also threatening to punish Iran by imposing what he called “secondary fees.”
Trump’s statements reflect a stressful comment a few days ago, in which he said that if Tehran refuses to negotiate a new nuclear agreement, “very bad things will happen to Iran.”
It was not clear whether Trump was threatening to bomb Iran with American aircraft only or in an operation that is coordinated with Israel.
The Israeli Foreign Minister, Jadaoun Saar, said in an interview with the Politico website late last month, that “in order to stop the Iranian nuclear program before it becomes a weapon, there must be on the table a reliable military option.”
Analysts said that Iran may be only weeks away from the production of a nuclear weapon that can be used, despite Tehran’s denial of manufacturing a nuclear weapon..
During Trump’s first state, the United States withdrew in 2018 from the international nuclear agreement concluded with Iran in 2015.
During his second term, Trump announced that he was open to talks about a new agreement with Iran, which could reduce the risk of military escalation.
