The theater and performance arts Authority will launch the “local theater tour” project tomorrow; Aimed at presenting distinguished theatrical performances in the various cities, governorates and villages of the Kingdom, in order to enhance the cultural and theatrical movement, and to expand the scope of community participation.
The first round of the project begins with the “Bahr” play, which will be shown from April 3 to May 3, where its performances in Al -Baha start from 3 to 5 April this year at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Theater at the Civilization Center.

Then the tour moves to Jubail from 17 to 19 April in the conference hall of the Royal Commission in the Artist, after which its tour in Dammam will be completed from April 24 to 26 at the Imam Abdul Rahman Al -Faisal University theater, to conclude its performances in Al -Ahsa from 1 to 3 May at the theater of the Society of Culture and Arts.
The project comes within the efforts of the authority to raise awareness of the theater and performance arts sector, and to ensure the provision of cultural services and products in inactive areas; To be accessible to social groups that do not have sufficient services.

Strengthening theatrical production

The project also supports local theatrical teams, and contributes to promoting theatrical production, contributing to the gross domestic product of the cultural sector, in addition to providing investment opportunities and exploring theatrical talents.
It is noteworthy that the play “Bahr”, written by Abdul Rahman Al -Muraikhi and directed by Sultan Al -Nawa, and has previously won many awards, including the best actor, the best theatrical text, the best integrated show at the Riyadh theater Festival in its first session, the best musical influences, and the best theatrical directing at the Gulf Theater Festival in its nineteenth session.
