Workshops in all schools for “initial disclosure of unification”

The Director General of the Dubai Autism Center and member of the center’s board of directors, Mohamed Al -Emadi, stressed that supporting and empowering people with autistic people is a societal responsibility, which requires full cooperation between all sectors, indicating that this cooperation aims to provide equal opportunities for them and enable them to participate actively in society, in a way that allows them to achieve their full potential.

In the context of celebrating the World Autism Day, which falls on the second of April of each year, the center continues to make efforts to provide specialized educational and treatment services, aimed at enhancing the integration of its students into society, through innovative programs and awareness activities.

The center seeks to raise awareness about the autism spectrum disorder, which reflects the commitment of the UAE to provide a comprehensive environment, which supports the development of their capabilities, and to achieve their full integration into society.

Al -Emadi told «Emirates Today» that the 19th annual campaign to raise awareness, which the center launches this year, focuses on enhancing societal awareness of the characteristics of individuals with autism and challenges they face.

He said: “Through this campaign, we aim to contribute to creating an inclusive environment that meets the needs of those with autism, which helps them to achieve success and complete integration into society.”

The activities of the campaign for this year include a variety of activities, including lighting a number of prominent landmarks in Dubai in blue to celebrate the International Day of Autism. It also includes the organization of weekly workshops in all state schools, to raise awareness about the means of initial detection of unification, as well as allocating weekly paragraphs within the “Balsan” program through the Noor Dubai channel, to increase awareness about unification, and the center will offer free sessions for early detection and comprehensive evaluation of children with unification disorder and developmental disorders.

On the vision of the Dubai Autism Center, Al -Emadi pointed out that the main goal of the center is to be a global reference in providing integrated and innovative services to autistic individuals and their families, based on this clear strategies set by the Board of Directors to ensure excellence and sustainability.

Through these efforts, the center works to improve the quality of the life of autistic individuals, by providing a supportive environment that enhances their independence and facilitates their integration into society.

This vision contributes to the consolidation of the UAE’s leading position in the field of caring for people of determination, and supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals in the health and education sectors.

With regard to therapeutic programs, Al -Emadi stressed that the center provides comprehensive services in diagnosis, treatment and education, to support the independence and integration of autistic children through a specialized team.

He added that the center follows strategies that include developing custom programs, promoting scientific research and training specialized cadres, to achieve the state’s vision of the well -being of people of determination.

He explained that the evaluation is carried out using internationally accredited tools, with a focus on social, communication and behavioral skills. He pointed out that the cultural diversity in Dubai enhances the exchange of experiences and the development of innovative therapeutic methods.

He stated that the center currently provides its services to 150 children in the school and therapeutic systems, including 60 children. Al -Emadi explained that the center provides integrated therapeutic services in the school system, for a reduced annual fee of 67 thousand dirhams, which is half of the actual cost.

He also stressed that the center is keen to support limited income families in coordination with the donors to cover the costs of services in the school and therapeutic systems.

He added that the center merges advanced technology in its therapeutic programs, including the use of artificial intelligence such as “Chat GBT” to enhance children’s communication and learning skills.

He pointed to the provision of modern rehabilitation technologies that are updated periodically at its new headquarters, to ensure the provision of distinguished services. He added that the center uses the technology «Exergame» in the children’s sports club, which depends on 3D interactive elements, to stimulate movement and enhance physical and mental skills. It also uses interactive surfaces with “Vertigo Systems”, which provides an environment that stimulates the senses, and contributes to improving communication and integrating children into society.

. The center witnessed a noticeable increase in the number of beneficiaries in recent years, as a result of increasing awareness of autism and improving the services provided.
