On Monday, US President Donald Trump threatened to impose heavy new customs customs on imports from China unless the latter pulls the reprisals announced, indicating that Washington will start talks on customs duties with countries wishing to do so.

“Unless China, by tomorrow, the increase of 34% on its main long -term trade exploitation mainly, the United States will impose additional recognition of 50% on China as of April 9,” Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social Social media platform.

Beijing took counter measures after Trump announced another sharp increase in fees on goods from the second largest economy in the world.

Since his return to the presidency, Trump has imposed additional customs duties by 20% on imports from China, which he accuses of contributing to the supply of narcotic fentanel.

A new 34 percent new tax is scheduled to enter the Asian giant’s products into effect on Wednesday.

The White House told AFP that the drawings that Trump threatened to impose will be added to the previous identities, which could raise the total additional customs duties this year to 104%.

On the other hand, China’s response included imposing controls on rare ground elements exports, and customs tariffs of 34% on American goods, which came into effect on April 10.

Trump criticized Beijing’s economic practices on social media on Monday, denounced “non -monetary customs recognition” and “illegal support for companies”.

He added that “all talks with China on the meetings that I asked of us will end.”

But Trump said on his platform Truth Suoshal, “Negotiations with other countries, which also requested meetings, will start immediately.”
