Saqr Ghobash receives a president "Foreign Affairs Committee" In the Italian Senate
Abu Dhabi, April 10 / WAM / His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Chairman of the Federal National Council at the Council’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, received His Excellency Stephania Gabriella Anastasia Krakasi, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee of the Italian Senate.
During the meeting, ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation relations between the Federal National Council and the Italian Senate, including cooperation and coordination on various issues of common concern in various regional and international parliamentary forums, and exchange of experiences, knowledge and parliamentary practices, in a way that enhances the existing cooperation and coordination between the UAE and the Republic of Italy in all fields.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Saeed Al -Abedi, Mira Al -Suwaidi, Hamid Al -Tayer, Sheikha Al -Kaabi, Khaled Al -Kharji, members of the Federal National Council, and His Excellency Tariq Ahmed Al Marzouqi, Assistant Secretary -General for the Presidency of the Council.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Saqr Ghobash welcomed His Excellency Stephania Gabriella Anastasia Krakasi and the accompanying delegation, stressing the importance of this visit in strengthening cooperation relations between the two countries, and enhancing the role of parliamentary diplomacy in coordination on issues of common concern, whether at the regional or international level.
His Excellency also stressed the importance of the parliamentary relations that bring together the two councils contribute to strengthening and developing bilateral and economic relations, noting that the Emirati -Italian Parliamentary Friendship Committee between the two councils that was formed in 2009 is one of the first committees of cooperation and parliamentary friendship formed by the National Council at the international level.
His Excellency praised the efforts of the friendship committees in promoting parliamentary dialogue and developing continuous consultation mechanisms.
For its part, His Excellency Stephania Gabriella Anastasia Krakasi, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee of the Italian Senate, expressed her deep thanks for the warm reception and generous hospitality that the delegation enjoyed in the UAE.
She praised the strong friendship that links the two countries, stressing Italy’s keenness to develop bilateral relations, reflecting the strong historical ties between the two friendly peoples.
