Panama announces the deployment of American forces near its channel

The Panamanian presidency announced that Panama will allow the deployment of American forces near its channel.
The US Defense Secretary, Beit Higseth, said earlier this week that the Donald Trump administration would not allow China to endanger the Panama channel.

Chinese American compete

The minister said in a speech on Tuesday in Panama, at a police station located at one of the channel’s entrances: Panama is facing new threats, the United States will not allow communist China or any other country to endanger the channel’s operation or safety.
“I want to be completely clear, China has not built this channel, China does not operate this channel, and this channel will not use a weapon,” Higsith added.

Chinese and American companies are competing for business in the waterway that President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened to control because of what he deems inconsistent with China.
The United States made the channel more than a century ago, then handed it over to Panama in 1999.
A registered company in Hong Kong Manager runs on both ends of the channel that connects the Atlantic and calm surroundings, through which 5% of the total global shipping traffic passes.
