"Economy" Expect a memorandum of understanding with "SGS Galv extends"To enhance the competitiveness of national products

Abu Dhabi, April 11/ WAM/ The Ministry of Economy signed a memorandum of understanding with the company “SGS Gallef Limited” with the aim of enhancing joint cooperation in controlling the quality of food and consumer products in the state markets and ensuring that they match the highest safety standards followed in this regard and verify the validity of consumer complaints that fall within the jurisdiction of the ministry, in a manner that ensures enabling proper commercial practices, creating a safe environment For consumers when buying goods and products.

The memorandum was signed at the Ministry’s headquarters in Dubai yesterday, His Excellency Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Geraldine Becaoud, CEO of SGS Gallef Limited in the presence of His Excellency Arthur Matley, Ambassador of the Swiss Federation to the state, and by the company Timur Abbasov, President of the Eastern European region, the Middle East and Africa; Anand Nair, Head of Communication and Products Department for the Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Mauriel Chriso, Director of Business Development.

His Excellency Abdullah Al Saleh affirmed the ministry’s keenness to continue to enhance cooperation with its partners at the level of the government and private sectors to support the flexibility and effectiveness of the consumer protection system in the country in a sustainable way and enhance the supervision of products and goods in the markets, and to adopt initiatives that would establish sound consumer culture.

His Excellency pointed out that the partnership with “SGS” is a new station to enhance the organizational frameworks aimed at providing a safe and high -quality consumer environment for consumers, and ensuring the application of the best standards for commercial control over goods and products, in order to support the competitiveness of the business and trade environment in the country, and enhance the growth and competitiveness of the national economy.

For its part, Geraldine Becaoud, CEO of SGS Galv extends that the Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Economy said a vital step to enhance the protection of consumers in the United Arab Emirates, stressing that their safety and satisfaction and their confidence falls in the company’s work priorities and added: “We are keen to adopt the best practices and solutions followed in this regard.”

According to the memo, the Ministry of Economy and the SG SS GFLEM extends to provide joint awareness programs on the food, beverage, cosmetics and other products, in a way that contributes to preserving the quality of products and commodities within the state markets, and supports the growth of internal trade in the seven emirates, in addition to that, workshops will be organized in universities, educational institutions and schools to enhance knowledge of the safety of products and encourage patterns Proper consumption.

The company “SGS”, at the request of the ministry, also undertakes the verification and examination of consumer complaints that fall within the Ministry’s jurisdiction with the test of samples from the market for a group of goods and products, especially children’s food, cosmetics and spare parts, with the aim of ensuring their quality, safety and conformity to specifications, through the technologies and laboratories of the company that follow international best practices in this regard.

The memorandum contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of national products exported to global markets, by enhancing joint cooperation between the two sides to provide a set of guidelines and information that facilitate the export of services and products, and the ease of obtaining certificates related to in this regard, in order to enhance the ability of local companies to expand globally and meet the regulatory requirements of all foreign markets, especially small and medium -sized companies.
