The junior national team .. a spark of hope to repeat “Amouri generation”

The National U-17 Football Junior Team has become a spark of hope for the UAE football, after qualifying for the 2025 World Cup, scheduled in Qatar next November, by overcoming his strong group in the Asian Championships in Saudi Arabia, as it reached the quarter-finals before he bid farewell to the competition at the hands of the Uzbek team 1-3.

The Emirati fans are good in the promising stars, and began linking the current generation of players led by the coach, Majed Al -Zaabi, and his counterpart, the generation of talents presented by Omar Abdul Rahman (Amouri), led by the national coach, as well as Mahdi Ali, who previously made great achievements made by the rise to the Olympics «London 2012».

The “white junior” won second place in his group after collecting four points, and qualified for the U -17 World Cup, after defeating Australia and a draw with Vietnam, in exchange for a loss from Japan at the beginning of his career in the tournament, to repeat the UAE for the fourth time in its history, as the UAE had previously climbed to the World Cup “Italy 1991”, “Nigeria 2009”, and “Emirates 2013”, when the country hosted the tournament.

The FIFA World Cup in Qatar 2025, which will be held annually, is witnessing the participation of 48 teams for the first time in the history of the tournament with its new system approved by the International Football Association (FIFA).

The achievement of the junior team comes at a time when the Emirati fans feared the first team’s inability to climb to the World Cup, following the recent negative results that weakened the opportunities of direct rise, by its solutions in the third place of its group, and caused the dismissal of the Portuguese coach Paulo Pinto.

The current junior team revived the beautiful memories of “Jel Amouri”, Ahmed Khalil and Ali Mabkhout, who was formulated by “Engineer”, Mahdi Ali, and achieved great achievements, most notably winning the Asian Cup with the 2010 youth team, and the silver of the Asian Games with the Olympic team in the same year, in addition to winning the 2013 Gulf Cup, and achieved third place in the Asian Cup 2015.

The public relates to the new generation of the junior team to achieve part of these achievements, at a time when this generation faces a great challenge due to the new regulations system currently approved in the federation and clubs, depending on the resident players and their naturalization to represent the team The junior national team (six players).

Abdullah Hassan: The circumstances have changed … and “the regulations” will not preserve this generation

The technical expert for training and development in the International Football Association, Abdullah Hassan, warned of the end of the journey of this generation early before going up to the first team, in the event that they do not obtain opportunities to participate in the matches with their clubs and the teams as well.

He told «Emirates Today»: “It is very difficult for the former Amori generation to be repeated with the current team to the 2025 World Cup. The circumstances have changed a lot and the current regulations cannot re -repeat this achievement, and preserve this generation of players, due to the lack of participation of these players with their clubs, whether at the present time or in the future, due to the club’s policy to rely on the resident players.”

Abdullah Hassan added: “The regulations that guarantee the participation of this generation of players with their clubs must be changed, as this position is currently repeated with the stars of our national team, including the fighter of Suhail and Yahya Al -Ghassani, who are among the stars of our national teams in the youth and youth, but unfortunately they cannot now attend or reserve their place, whether with the Al -Ahly youth team or the national team permanently, due to the policy of relying on the resident players.”

He concluded: “The opportunity and the way for these players must be found for the posts, and change some regulations, and here it is necessary to pay tribute to the experience of the Saudi junior team that it is necessary to benefit from, as he is currently competing in the U -19 league in the Saudi local league competition, which increases the friction of these players.”

Abdullah Hassan:

. Junior players need opportunities to participate in matches with their clubs and teams.
