South Korea calls for the immediate closure of a Japanese museum .. What is the story?

South Korea protested today, Friday, that Japan reopened a government museum confirming its demands for its right to the Korean Docu Islands located in the far east of the country.
Sol urged the museum to close immediately, while the National Museum of Land and Sovereignty in Tokyo said that it had reopened early today after renewal and improving exhibits, providing more practical experience.

Dukdo Islands

The renovations confirmed the most regional demands of Japan with the Dukdo Islands and the disputed northern islands with Russia, with the presence of signs of the museum indicating that Japan is unable to exercise sovereignty over them, even though the areas are owned by the country.
“The South Korean government is strongly protesting against the Japanese government reopening the museum that aims to promote its unfair allegations about Docu and urge it to close it immediately,” South Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman Lee Jay-Wong said in a comment.

Bilateral relations between South Korea and Japan

He added: “Dukdo is an authentic part of our lands historically and geographically and under international law.
He continued: Japan must realize that continuing unrelated claims for its right to Dokdo does not help in developing bilateral relations in the future.
The Foreign Ministry also summoned an official from the Japanese embassy in Seoul to move a complaint.
