Pope Francis died a stroke and a failure in the circulatory

The Vatican announced that Pope Francis died after suffering a stroke, which caused him to enter a coma and a failure of the blood circulation of the heart, according to the death certificate he issued on Monday.

The document signed by the Director of the Health and Hygiene Department at the Vatican Professor Andrea Arkangeli, that “death was confirmed by registering an electrical planning.”

He said in the death certificate: “He announced that Pope Francis (Jorge Mario Bergolio) born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) on December 17, 1936, residing in the Vatican State, the Vatican citizen, died at 7.35 am on April 21, 2025 in his apartment” at St. Marta’s headquarters.

He added that the causes of death were a “stroke”, “coma” and “heart attack failure”.

The document also mentioned health problems that the Pope suffers from, which is “acute respiratory failure during multi -microbial pulmonary inflammation, multiple bronchial expansion, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes.”
