Abu Dhabi, April 27 / WAM / The UAE has established its position as one of the most prominent international models in developing digital infrastructure and adopting artificial intelligence technologies within the government and private work system, thanks to its innovative initiatives and huge investments in both infrastructure and qualified human cadres.
In a regionally and globally leading move, the UAE government launched the “Emirates AI Strategy” aimed at raising the efficiency of government performance, developing a smart digital system, and making the UAE at the forefront of invested countries in artificial intelligence techniques by 2031, with a focus on strategic sectors such as transportation, renewable energy, education, health, and the environment.
This trend was reflected in a comprehensive digital transformation within the government sector, as the UAE has occupied leadership in adopting artificial intelligence and blockchain techniques, which made it at the forefront of states at the regional and global levels.
The UAE is the first country globally for the ninth year in a row in covering the optical fiber network, up to 99.5% of the total area of ​​the country, which reflects its superiority in establishing an advanced digital infrastructure, and occupies the forefront site globally in terms of the speed of the Internet, whether at the level of home networks or mobile phones, according to OKla International reports, which reflects the efficiency of the national network and its ability to support digital services Sophisticated and comprehensive.
The adoption of digital solutions and artificial intelligence contributed to causing qualitative leaps within ministries and government institutions, where some government services were restructured using smart technologies, which improved the experience of customers and raised the quality of services.
These efforts ranked the UAE first in the world in the “Communications Infrastructure Index” within the United Nations report to survey e -government for the year 2024, which highlights the efforts of governments to accelerate digital transformation and employ artificial intelligence to achieve sustainable development.
The state also ranked first in the region in the “government’s readiness index of artificial intelligence” issued by the Oxford Insights Foundation, which included 193 countries, benefiting from the high performance in the three pillars of the index: government efficiency, the development of the technology sector, the availability of data and digital infrastructure.
With this integrated scene, the UAE continues to confirm its advanced location as a foregoing country in the foresight of the digital future and devoting artificial intelligence a major pillar in the work of the government.
The “Interioral Strategic Analysis” Center in Abu Dhabi explained that the UAE’s relentless direction towards investing in artificial intelligence will make it top the functions of this sector at the region level.
The center stated that the functions of artificial intelligence in the UAE are witnessing an annual growth of 74%, according to Lenkid, which makes it one of the fastest growing jobs in the country.
Rob van Del, partner and head of the Digital Transformation and Analysis Department at the Kirney Company for the Middle East and Africa, stressed that the UAE no longer deals with artificial intelligence as a mere experience or research project, but rather has become an “integrated operating system” that reshapes the public and private sectors together, indicating that what is happening in the Emirates is “the governance of artificial intelligence” in an institutional and integrated manner.
He stressed that the global private sector responded to the UAE’s directions in this field by pumping billions of dollars in investments by major companies.
For his part, Faisal Hammadi, the director and partner in the Boston International Consulting Group, BCG, said that the UAE is not satisfied with adopting artificial intelligence, but rather to develop it, within the framework of a comprehensive approach led by the government, stressing that the state has moved from the stage of ambitions and ideas to the stage of broad implementation.
In turn, Ahmed Gamal, the regional director of artificial intelligence solutions at the “Envenia” company- Advanz Intestation, the strategic partner of Anvidia, stressed that the UAE has become a pioneer in the world of artificial intelligence to the point that it moved from the investment stage in infrastructure and technologies to the stage of achieving returns, pointing out that it was one of the first countries to adopt a comprehensive approach to artificial intelligence techniques.
Dr. Hitandra Patel, founder of the Global Innovation Institute, said that what the UAE has accomplished reflects a profound absorption of the importance of artificial intelligence, as it was adopted quickly, in line with the acceleration of changes worldwide, pointing out that the UAE is moving in a steady and fast pace towards the digital future, and it builds a role model in the region and the world.
