المملكة: Jeddah .. Receiving 2.4 million tons of waste in the first quarter of 2025

The Jeddah Municipality revealed that it received its waste dumper during the first quarter of this year 2025 about 2,392,465 tons of solid municipal waste, vegetable waste, and large -sized building and demolition waste, which were transported through 215,664 vehicles.
This is within the operational plans for cleaning work, and within the framework of the Secretariat’s efforts to raise the level of environmental sanitation in the city.
According to the report of the General Administration of Hygiene Projects, the amount of solid household waste received by Al -Mursam during this period was 285,604 tons, and the amount of solid commercial waste was estimated at 198,981 tons, while construction and demolition residues formed the largest percentage with a total of 1,855,854 tons.
Solid waste management
Al -Mamdam also received 45,365 tons of large plant waste, along with 6,961 tons of slaughterhouse waste, 450 tons of expensive materials, in addition to 99 tons of tire waste, and 15 tons of papers that included religious newspapers and publications.
The Jeddah Municipality attaches great importance to solid waste management and recycling, by applying the best scientific practices and modern technologies.
Mardam Wadi Asala
The project of operating and maintaining Mardam Wadi Asla, which aims to implement the sound scientific foundations in dealing with increased waste as a result of development expansion, population increase, and high rates of individual waste.
Through this project, the Secretariat also seeks to reduce the size of the daily waste resulting from municipal activities, and to extract the recyclable organic materials, in support of the city’s sustainability and improve the quality of life in it.
