“Emergency and Crisis in Abu Dhabi” launch the “Flexibility” forum

The Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Center of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi launched yesterday the activities of the “annual forum for the continuity of business and alternative national service – flexibility”, in the presence of a number of senior officials of government agencies.
The two -day forum aims to enhance the concepts of institutional readiness, ensure the continuity of vital activities and services during emergency, crises and disasters, highlighting the center’s role in coordination and integration between government agencies, and introducing the importance of the alternative national service program as a strategic tool to support business continuity in exceptional circumstances.
The first day of the forum witnessed the launch of the “Abu Dhabi Standard for the continuity of business for health care activity”, in cooperation with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, which is the first global standard dedicated to the health sector, as part of a series of criteria that the center intends to launch, to cover various vital activities in the emirate.
The new criterion aims to ensure the sustainability of the health sector capabilities, and the development of the health care continuity management system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
During the event, 129 recruits were graduated in three batches of the alternative national service program, and 21 local entities were honored that activated the program, in addition to honoring 10 bodies that fulfilled the requirements for compliance with the national standard for the continuity of business in the emirate.
On its first day, the forum’s agenda included dialogue sessions that dealt with best practices and programs applied in the field of business continuity.
A number of specialists and experts reviewed their practical experiences in this field, stressing the importance of exchanging knowledge and enhancing cooperation between the various parties.
The Director General of the Center for Emergency, Crises and Disaster Management of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Matar Saeed Al -Nuaimi, stressed that the organization of this event reflects the center’s commitment to enhance the emirate’s readiness, and constitutes a platform for exchanging experiences in the emergency management, crises and business continuity, in line with the directives of the wise leadership.
He added that the launch of the Abu Dhabi Business Continuity in Health Care is a pivotal step towards enhancing the reservoir of the health sector, and confirms our keenness to provide a sustainable healthy environment capable of facing various challenges.
He pointed out that the center continues to strengthen strategic partnerships and coordinate efforts with the concerned authorities, which contributes to raising the efficiency of response to crises, and enhancing the readiness of the vital sectors for the future.
For his part, the Executive Director of the Prevention and Preparing Sector at the Emergency and Crisis and Disaster Management Center for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Haider Omar Al -Hashemi, said that the center organizes the annual “Flexibility” forum, with the aim of gathering experts from various local authorities that applied best practices in the business continuity system during the past year, and circulating them to other local authorities to benefit from them in achieving business continuity in the best pictures and roads.
