Kamel Al-Wazir stresses keenness on economic and industrial cooperation relations with Qatar

Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, praised the depth and strength of the fraternal relations between Egypt and Qatar, stressing that the rapprochement between the two countries reflects a consensus of visions and a common keenness to enhance economic and industrial cooperation, explaining that the Egyptian state attaches great importance to promoting partnerships with brothers, especially in complementary projects that are based on maximizing the use of available capabilities and exchanging experiences, in a way that achieves common interests and supports sustainable development paths in the country. Both countries.
This came during Kamel Al-Wazir’s meeting today with Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Sayed, Minister of Foreign Trade of the State of Qatar, and his accompanying delegation. They discussed ways to launch Egyptian-Qatari complementary projects during the next stage, and they discussed a number of files related to strengthening industrial cooperation between Egypt and Qatar, and the opportunities available to establish joint projects in promising industrial sectors, and mechanisms for benefiting from the competitive advantages enjoyed by the Egyptian and Qatari economies, in a way that contributes to supporting supply chains. Joint manufacturing and increasing the rates of trade exchange were also discussed, and ways to create an attractive climate for investments and overcome any obstacles that may face the implementation of integrated projects were discussed. He explained that the final products in these sectors, such as wires, molds, aluminum plates, basic components in cars, and fabrics manufactured in the textile sector, depend on multiple production inputs, which opens the way for the establishment of joint integrated projects between Egypt and Qatar, benefiting from the capabilities and capabilities available in both countries, which contributes to the localization of these industries, enhancing their competitiveness, and supporting regional production chains.
He stressed the importance of cooperation between the two sides in the field of maritime transport, especially in the field of maritime transport. Managing container and general cargo terminals, especially with the major qualitative shift witnessed by this sector in Egypt through the addition of 5 new ports, bringing the number of Egyptian ports to 19 ports, and the construction of new berths and stations so that the total length of berths exceeds 100 km berths, in addition to deepening the shipping lanes so that the ports sector can accommodate up to 40 million equivalent containers annually and 400 million tons of cargo, as well as attracting the 6 largest global shipping lines, which are (MSC, MEARSK, CMA CGM, HAPAG LOYED EVERGREEN, and the 7 largest international operators (Hutchison, Eurojet, CMA TERMINALS, A.P. Muller, Abu Dhabi Ports, and DP World), which contributed to Egypt’s ranking in various international classification indices.
He pointed to the important steps that Egypt is implementing to restore the strength of the Egyptian commercial fleet to reach 40 commercial ships by 2030, through companies affiliated with the Ministry, such as the National Shipping Companies, Arab Bridge, Cairo Ferries, and Egyptian Oil Tankers, with the aim of maximizing Egypt’s ability to transport strategic goods from grains to oil and passengers, and linking them to all countries of the world, thus strengthening Egypt’s position as a regional maritime power in the Middle East.
For his part, the Qatari Minister of Foreign Trade praised the relations The distinguished relationship between the two countries, stressing the keenness of the State of Qatar to strengthen economic partnerships with Egypt, especially in sectors that achieve industrial and investment integration, noting the importance of establishing joint projects that contribute to supporting the national economy of both countries and opening new horizons for long-term strategic cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides expressed their aspiration to continue the constructive dialogue and activate joint projects as soon as possible, which reflects the depth of the strategic relations between the two countries and supports the process of industrial and commercial development in the region.
