The Football Association launches a global medical initiative in the cup final

The Football Association announced the launch of a new international medical initiative in the final match of the Presidential Cup between the Al -Ahly and Sharjah youth teams, to be held on May 9, at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in the capital, Abu Dhabi.
The Football Association said in a press statement that “the initiative is a pioneer and the first of its kind in local competitions in the Arab Gulf states and the Middle East.”
The new medical initiative includes the use of video restarting system to support medical assessments (VRS) adopted in the World Cup 2022, which is similar to the technology of assistant video rule (VAR), goal line technology, and semi -automated infiltration.
This system will provide the opportunity for doctors and the medical team in the two teams and the medical coordinator assigned to the Football Association from the analysis of injuries that may occur during the match through high -tech tablet devices linked to direct broadcasting, and through the system it is possible to restart the section on detailing in detail and with different speeds and angles, the team doctor is facilitated to diagnose the condition accurately and provide medical assistance and optimal treatment, and a comprehensive training process will be performed on the use of this technology before the match.
In addition to this modern medical technology, the Football Association will provide high -level medical coverage in the most expensive final for the dignitaries, players and fans, represented in air ambulance services, the presence of five fully equipped ambulances, a field emergency emergency doctor, a team of doctors specializing in sports injuries and others, and medical rooms fully equipped, supported by a system and a systematic and accurate operating protocol managed by the medical official in the Federation.
Environmental conditions will be closely monitored before and during the match, specifically the temperature through the temperature system measurements (WBGT) and the percentage of moisture, in order to determine the players ’need for cooling breaks, and both teams will be delivered the medical bag approved by the International Football Association, which is equipped with all the requirements and equipment needed to deal with any injury during the course of the match.
For the second consecutive version in the most expensive cup final, the additional switching related to the concussion state will be applied, to give priority to the health and safety of the injured player or suspected of concussion, and awareness messages will be broadcast on this injury on the match stadium, to enhance awareness and early identification of its symptoms.
Coordination was conducted between the Football Association and the National Anti -Doping Agency in the process of conducting doping tests after the end of the match, and the Federation instructed Dr. Rima Al -Hosani Medical Officer in the Asian and International Federations, as a medical coordinator for the final match.
