The Governor of the Digital Government Authority, Ahmed bin Muhammad Al -Suwaian, and his accompanying delegation, concluded his official visit to the United States of America, which included a series of fruitful bilateral meetings with senior officials in international organizations, prominent universities, and global technical companies, with the aim of enhancing international cooperation in the areas of digital government, and seeing best global practices, in support of the goals of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision towards building a sustainable digital economy.
Within efforts to enhance international partnerships, he met the Undersecretary of the United Nations Secretary -General for Economic and Social Affairs Lee Gouhwa, where ways to enhance joint cooperation were discussed, and discussed with the permanent representative of the Kingdom to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al -Wasat, aspects of cooperation and reviewed the most prominent digital achievements of the Kingdom at the international level.

Development of government services

In the context of participating in dialogue sessions, Al -Suwaian stressed during a session entitled “Innovations of Artificial Intelligence in Emerging Economy” at Harvard University, that artificial intelligence represents a driving force for the transformation of the digital government, and contributes to accelerating development in emerging economies, noting the Kingdom’s investments in artificial intelligence to develop government services and enhance comprehensive growth.

He also participated in a high -level session entitled “Digital Paths to provide job opportunities” within the Spring meetings for the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund for 2025.

He held a number of meetings with executives of major international technical companies, including (Oracle), (COHERE) and (Amazon), to discuss opportunities to expand the adoption of cloud computing in the government sector, and to review the solutions of obstetric intelligence, in addition to exploring areas of cooperation in computing and digital innovation technologies.

Support national competencies

In the context of supporting national competencies, a number of Saudi scholars who are scholars in the United States of America met in the presence of the cultural attaché, Tahani Al -Bayz, and meetings were held with innovators and Saudi entrepreneurs at Harvard and (MIT) universities, to see their innovative projects and discuss the prospects for digital economy growth.

The visit was concluded by organizing a workshop in cooperation between the digital government and the World Bank, held in Washington, to review the Kingdom’s leading experience in the digital government, with the participation of a number of Saudi government agencies and a group of World Bank experts.

The visit included field tours to research and innovation centers to see the latest technologies in the areas of artificial intelligence and biotechnology.
