12 countries announce their participation in the Arab Athletics Championship in Tunisia

Abu Dhabi, 31 March / WAM / The Arab Athletics Federation announced that 12 countries have agreed – so far – to participate in the 21st Arab Championship for men and women, scheduled from 26 to 30 April in Tunisia.

During his meeting this afternoon, via “video communication technology,” he revealed the list of participating countries’ teams, which includes the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the Sultanate of Oman, Kuwait, Syria, Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Morocco, and Tunisia, with next April 10 being the last date for receiving the final lists of participants’ names.

During the meeting, various organizational, technical and administrative aspects were discussed, and the latest preparations were reviewed. Nejib Boukataya, Secretary General of the Tunisian Athletics Federation, reviewed the final preparations, stressing coordination with the relevant authorities to facilitate the entry of participants, grant them entry visas, and circulate to embassies in Arab countries to inform them of the tournament, to help participants obtain the required visas.

Majed Basanbel, Secretary-General of the Arab Federation, stressed that the championship is on schedule and will not be postponed except in the event of “force majeure” due to their keenness to adhere to the approved calendar. He also thanked the Tunisian Athletics Federation and the organizing committee for their efforts, praising the exceptional preparations for the event amid great media interest.
