“Dubai Autism” concludes its 19th campaign to raise awareness of autism with the opening of the first specialized Arab podcast studio

Dubai, May 4 / WAM / At the conclusion of the activities of the nineteenth annual campaign for autism awareness, which started at the beginning of last April and lasted for a month under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, the Dubai Autism Center opened the first Arab Podcast Studio dedicated to discuss the issues of people with autism.
On this initiative, Mohamed Al -Emadi, Director General of the Dubai Autism Center and a member of its board of directors said that this achievement comes as a culmination of a series of initiatives and events organized by the center during the month of April, in line with the goals of the “Year of Society”, as the opening of the podcast studio represents a qualitative step in our march towards enhancing societal awareness of autism, through this platform, we will be able to communicate the voices of autistic individuals and their families and those in charge To take care of them with transparency and clarity, especially for the Arab world, and highlight their stories and experiences, in a way that contributes to building a more comprehensive and understanding society.
Al -Emadi expressed his thanks and appreciation to OP3 Design, which contributed to the design, implementation and care of the studio, noting that the launch of the first episode of this studio will be presented by Mrs. Joyce Chamoun, Director of Business Development at the Dubai Autism Center.
“We are proud of our partnership with the Dubai Autism Center in this pioneering project. We believe that the design can be a tool for positive change, and this studio is a vivid example of this, as it provides space for communication, expression and community participation,” said Charles Chang, General Manager of OP3 Design.
On the most prominent results of the campaign, Al -Emadi explained that this year the campaign witnessed the organization of virtual workshops and a weekly presence of autism, which included 1182 government and private schools in the country (673 government schools and 509 private schools “, in addition to awareness lectures that included a number of public and private institutions to target 1500 employees.
He pointed out that the community awareness team in the center participated in a number of forums and dialogue sessions that dealt with the most important current issues on autism, the most prominent of which is the Dubai Health Authority Forum and the Abu Dhabi University Forum.
The campaign also included announcing a new group of autistic bodies in the Emirate of Dubai, most notably the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, Al -Ittihad Cooperation and Mercato Mall, where each of them obtained a certificate of “friendly environment for autistic people”, in a pioneering step that embodies the commitment of those parties to enhance the principles of integration and sustainability, and in support of the “Community … a place for everyone” that seeks to turn Dubai into a model city friendly to owners Identity, by providing environments that enable them to participate actively in various aspects of life.
Al -Emadi explained that the campaign witnessed a wide interaction in publishing its mission through internal and external digital platforms and screens of a number of governmental and private agencies, which exceeded 3150 digital displays in different regions of the country that included metro stations and buses of the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, the gas stations of the company “Enok”, and shopping centers, in addition to the display of the advertisement on the cinemas of the cinemas, as well Displayed on Zi satellite channels in both Arabic and English.
Within the framework of the organized family support activities during the campaign, the center presented free sessions for early detection and comprehensive evaluation of children with unification disorder and developmental disorders, in addition to issuing a book that is a new guide for parents and teachers entitled “Management of behavioral challenges in autistic children”, aims to provide families and specialists with knowledge and tools needed to understand the reasons behind the various behaviors of autistic children and application Effective strategies to help them.
During the campaign, students enrolled in the Dubai Autism Center participated in competitions and events, most notably the Abu Dhabi University competition in drawing for autism – the ninth session, in which 16 students participated in their artistic works from the Dubai Autism Center, where 6 of them got the first place in addition to the second, third and fifth place.
It is noteworthy that the Dubai Autism Center has sought since its establishment to enhance the community awareness of the autism spectrum turmoil not only by raising awareness of its symptoms, but also by introducing individuals and institutions to the requirements of appropriate dealing with people with autism through its launch of many campaigns and awareness programs, the most prominent of which was the annual campaign to raise awareness of autism, which the center sought to organize since 2006 taking from the International Day for Autism Agriculture (April 2) is an ideal suitable for its launch Every year.
