Ahmed Al Raisi, President of the Gulf Chess Federation, and Mohammed Al Kaabi, Secretary General

Ahmed Ali Al-Raisi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ajman Chess Club, won the presidency of the Gulf Chess Federation for the 2026-2027 session, during the General Assembly meeting of the Gulf Chess Federation, which was held remotely, and Muhammad Abdullah Al-Kaabi also won the position of Secretary-General.
The General Assembly decided to assign hosting the headquarters of the Gulf Chess Federation to the Emirates for two years, in accordance with the regulations governing the work of the Federation, succeeding the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting, which was held remotely, was chaired by a member of the Board of Directors of the Gulf Chess Federation, Adel Al-Amiri, in the presence of the heads of the federations of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the Acting Secretary-General of the Emirates Chess Federation, Nasser Abdullah bin Amer.
Ahmed Al-Raisi expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Sports for its continuous support, stressing that this support represents a fundamental pillar in the successes achieved by Emirati sports, and contributes to strengthening its presence at the regional and international levels.
He also thanked the Emirates Chess Federation for its trust and support, pointing out that the UAE’s assumption of the presidency of the Gulf Federation represents a great responsibility and an important opportunity to develop the Gulf chess system, by enhancing joint work, expanding the base of practitioners, and raising the level of tournaments and technical programs.
