Zelinski doubts that Russia can respect the truce of the three days
Ukrainian President Folodimir Zellinski said he does not believe that Russia will respect the next truce for 3 days, which is compatible with Moscow celebrations of victory day.
“This is not the first challenge, nor the first promises of the ceasefire that Russia has made, we know with whom we deal, and we do not believe them,” Zellinski told reporters at a joint press conference with Czech President Peter Paville.
The Kremlin suggested a 3 -day truce coinciding with Russia’s commemoration of May 9, stressing that it aims to test Kiev peace.
Reducing combat actions
Russian President Vladimir Putin declared a short truce during the Easter holiday, which led to a reduction in combat actions, although it was not fully respected by both parties.
In March, Moscow rejected an unconditional stop of a 30 -day shooting for Kiev and Washington.
“Today and during the past few days, they talked about their desire for a kind of partial ceasefire, but science should be taken, for example, that the number of attacks today is the highest in recent months,” Zellinski said. Pointing to a military report that more than 200 attacks occurred on Saturday.
“Therefore, there is no confidence in them,” the Ukrainian president added.
Establishing a Czech Ukrainian Institute
Later on Sunday, Zellinski issued a statement of his meeting with Pavel.
He said that the discussions are underway on the establishment of a Czech Ukrainian institute to train pilots to drive the American F -16, as such an institute cannot be created in Ukraine “due to the current security concerns.”
Zellinski added that there will be a meeting today, Monday, with the “Czech Defense Companies”, and will be announced later.
Pavel, who was a general in NATO, said he cares about those who are ready to respect the ceasefire, and not just talking about him.
He added that “Putin can end the war with a simple decision, but it has not yet shown the will to do so.”
