Macron receives Sharia in Paris on Wednesday on the first visit of the Syrian President to Europe

The Elysee Palace announced to Agence France -Presse on Tuesday that President Emmanuel Macron will receive in Paris on Wednesday, Ahmed Al -Shara, on the first visit of the Syrian transitional president to Europe.

The French presidency said that Macron “will reaffirm France’s support for building a new Syria, free, stable and sovereign Syria that respects all components of Syrian society.”

She added that “this meeting falls within the framework of France’s historic commitment to the Syrians who look at peace and democracy,” stressing that Macron will repeat “his demands for the Syrian government, foremost of which is the stability of the region, especially Lebanon, as well as combating terrorism.”

At the beginning of February, the French President invited the Syrian transitional president to visit France, before he associated this invitation at the end of March, provided that a Syrian government is formed that includes “all components of civil society” and ensuring security for the return of Syrian refugees.
