Cooperation between the Federal Public Prosecution and the University of Mohammed bin Zayed for artificial intelligence

Abu Dhabi, May 7 / WAM / The Federal Public Prosecution and the University of Mohammed bin Zayed for artificial intelligence signed a strategic memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing cooperation in the areas of artificial intelligence, scientific research, and legal innovation, which contributes to the development of the criminal justice system.

The memorandum, which took place on the sidelines of the Gets 2025, was signed by Salem Ali Al -Zaabi, head of a prosecution in the office of the Public Prosecutor and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Summit, and Professor Sami Haddadin, Vice President of the University for Research.

The agreement aims to build research partnerships and develop smart solutions supporting justice, through the implementation of joint research projects, and the establishment of a research chair specialized in artificial intelligence and its legal applications, as well as encouraging master’s and doctoral theses in intersections between law and technology.

The areas of cooperation also include organizing legal innovation laboratories, supporting participatory graduation projects, and testing digital evidence analysis tools, as well as cooperation in scientific events and joint community awareness campaigns.

On this occasion, Salem Al -Zaabi stressed, in a statement to Emirates News Agency “WAM”, that the signing of the agreement comes within the framework of the prosecution’s keenness to build strategic partnerships with specialized scientific authorities, specifically in the areas of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, pointing out that it was agreed to develop joint research and experimental programs that contribute to preparing adequate studies on ways to employ artificial intelligence in a responsible and effective manner, in a way that enhances efficiency The justice system serves man in the first place.

He added that the memo includes multiple aspects, the most prominent of which is the training and rehabilitation of national cadres that represent more than 99 % of the workforce in the prosecution, explaining that the memo includes an annual plan to qualify cadres, in the context of the prosecution’s keenness to invest in its youth capabilities in order to support the development of the judicial work system in line with the requirements of the future.

For his part, Professor Sami Haddadin said that the memorandum paves the way for scientific and applied cooperation aimed at developing models that depend on artificial intelligence to support the judicial decision industry, by building preliminary experiences that take into account accuracy and justice and free from bias, explaining that the university will ridicule its research experiences in analyzing huge data and developing advanced technical tools in a way that contributes to enabling legal cadres to use artificial intelligence in a way Responsible and effective.

He pointed out that cooperation reflects the university’s commitment to building knowledge systems that support national institutions in harnessing technology to serve the community, within the framework of rational governance that preserves moral and human values ​​in technical applications.

This agreement embodies the approach adopted by the Public Prosecution in consolidating national integration and building institutional partnerships with academic and research bodies, with the aim of developing national competencies, supporting data -based decision -making, enhancing the readiness of the justice system for future variables, and also reflects the prosecution’s keenness to expand the circle of cooperation with the elite of the leading national institutions, in a way that keeps pace with the state’s targets in digital leadership and enhancing the rule of law.
