المملكة: The success of the separation of Egyptian parasitic twins after a 8 -hour surgery

The Saudi medical and surgical team affiliated with the Saudi program for twins affiliated today was able to separate the Egyptian parasitic twins, “Mohamed Abdel Rahman Jumaa”, at King Abdullah Specialist Hospital for Children in King Abdulaziz Medical City for the National Guard in Riyadh, after a complex surgery that took (8) hours.
The process was carried out on (6) stages, in which (26) consultants, specialists, nursing and technical cadres participated in anesthesia, neurosurgery, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery and the rest of the supporting specialties.
The advisor at the Royal Court, the general supervisor of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, head of the medical and surgical team Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al -Rabiah, explained that the parasite twins were separated from the child Muhammad as expected before the operation; Due to the lack of the ingredients for life, such as the heart and head, and the presence of birth defects that hinder life, and cannot be corrected, in addition to the lack of synthesis of the kidneys, urinary, and reproductive system and the presence of large failure in the intestine, beneficial that this information was known before the operation, and was explained to the child’s parents.

He pointed out that the process comes in response to the generous directives from the wise leadership – may God support it – and the operation No. (63) is within the Saudi program for the adherent twins, explaining that the program managed since the year (1990) to provide care for (149) cases of twin adherents coming from (27) sister and friendly countries.
Dr. Al -Rabiah thanked and appreciated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister -may God protect them -for the unlimited support that the program receives, stressing that these medical successes represent one of the bright images of the Kingdom’s presence in the international arena as a state of charitable and humanitarian work.
