The Board of Directors of the Arab Media Award adopts the winning works within its 24th session

Dubai, May 7/ WAM/ The Board of Directors of the “Arab Media Award” organized by the Dubai Press Club, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God bless him, approved the winning works in its printed, visual and digital categories in addition to the two winning characters in the categories of “Best Pillar Writer” and “The Personality of the Media Year” within the 24th session of the award.
This came during a meeting of the award board of directors that was held chaired by His Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Murri, Vice President and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the award, through visual communication technology.
The members of the Council discussed the various stages that the arbitration, sorting and standards that the committees adopted in selecting the winners went through according to the conditions specified for the award within its various categories, which witnessed strong competition between major media institutions, journalists and writers in the Arab world.
During the meeting, His Excellency Mona Ghanem Al -Murri thanked the members of the award board of directors and to everyone who contributed to completing all the stages of the award, leading to the selection of the winners of its current session, foremost of which is the screening and arbitration committees that continued to work over the past months to ensure the best works reach the final stages according to the approved criteria, and the award remains always an inspiration in the application of the highest principles of integrity and transparency in the differentiation And choice.
Her Excellency said that what distinguishes the award is not only that it culminates in excellence, stimulates competition and raises the ceiling of creativity, but rather expresses Dubai’s identity in supporting the role of the media, an effective tool in building a person and based on this vision, we are keen to enrich the contributions of the award in developing media content and the Arab media system in general as the most prominent Arab award that celebrates excellence in the media field.
Her Excellency pointed out that the award witnessed this year a distinguished course at the level of the size and diversity of posts, as the General Secretariat of the award received works from various media institutions in the region and from journalists working in Arab newspapers throughout the Arab world, stressing that all the work that has reached the stage of accreditation has passed through long stages of sorting operations and then arbitration by specialized and neutral committees.
In turn, Dr. Maitha Bouhamid, Secretary -General of the Arab Media Award, expressed her appreciation to everyone who participated in the success of this version of the Arab Media Award, confirming that her role in granting the appropriate honor to creators who contribute to enriching the media scene.
She also expressed her appreciation for the pivotal role of the award’s board of directors and its keenness that the award is to keep pace with the rapid developments in the media sector regionally and globally.
The Secretary -General of the award said during the meeting that the development of the award system does not stop, and it is subject to periodic discussions every year with the members of the Board of Directors with the aim of discussing the development of the award and its categories in the context of our continuous keenness to keep pace with all rapid media variables and achieve qualitative transfers that take the award to higher levels of excellence translation of the UAE and Dubai approach in development and innovation in various fields.
On the honoring ceremony, Jassim Al -Shamsi, Director of the Arab Media Award, said that the General Secretariat of the Arab Media Award is scheduled to honor the winners during the award ceremony that will be held this year in conjunction with the activities of the Arab Media Summit on May 27, in the presence of a group of Emirati and Arab media leaders, great writers, media professionals, heads of Arab media institutions, directors of newspapers, news sites and digital platforms in the Arab world.
The “Arab Journalism Award” is a major focus of the Arab Media Award, including five categories: “Political Journalism”, “Economic Press” and “Press Investigations”.
While the “Visual Media Award” includes five categories: “Best Economic Program”, “Best Cultural Program”, “Best Sports Program” and “Best Social Program” in addition to “Best Documentary Work”.
As for the “Personality of the Year’s Media” award, it is granted by a decision of the Board of Directors of the award for a distinguished Arab media figure in appreciation of its contributions that enriched the Arab media scene within various fields, whether written, digital or visible, and its efforts extending through years to enhance the Arab media scene with creative thought and creative visions that left positive imprints in society in general, in addition to the category of “Best Pillar Writer” and granted by a decision of the Board of Directors as well based on criteria. Specified.
It is noteworthy that the Board of Directors of the “Arab Media Award” includes Dr. Maitha Bouhamid, Executive Director of the Marketing and Communication Sector at the Dubai Media Corporation – the Secretary -General of the Award, Dr. Sultan Al -Nuaimi, Director General of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, Ghassan Charbel, Editor -in -Chief of the Middle East newspaper, Nila Tueni, Chairman of the Lebanese newspaper, Al -Nahar, writer and journalist Imad Al -Din Adib, Muhammad Al Hammadi, Director General of the Agency Emirates News “WAM”, writer, thinker and writer Dr. Mohamed Al -Rumaihi, and Ahmed Al -Muslimani, Chairman of the National Authority for the Flasses, President of the Cairo Center for Strategic Studies.
