French President Emmanuel Macron, transitional president, Ahmed Al -Shara, called for all possible “to ensure the protection of all Syrians without exception,” during his hosting in Paris on Wednesday on his first visit to a Western country.

Macron stressed during a press conference with the Sharia the need to ensure “pursuit and trial of the perpetrators of” sectarian violence against the Druze recently, and the perpetrators of “massacres” against the Alawites in March, calling on the European Union to “impose systematic sanctions on the perpetrators of these crimes.” In addition, Macron expressed his support for the continuation of “the gradual raising of European economic sanctions” if the ruling authorities can achieve stability in Syria.

“I informed the president that if he continues his approach, we will do the same. First, he gradually lifting European sanctions, and then we will also press our American partners to follow our example in this regard,” Macron added.
