5.6 % growth in the size of Chinese foreign trade during April

BEIJING, on May 9/ WAM/ Official data issued by the General Authority of Chinese Customs showed today, the total growth and exports of the country from commodities by 5.6% during the month of April 2025 compared to the same period last year, which reflects the continued recovery of the commercial movement of the Chinese economy.
The People’s Daily Online newspaper reported that Chinese exports recorded an annual growth by 9.3% during the past month to reach 2.27 trillion yuan, while imports increased by 0.8% to 1.57 trillion yuan.
The data indicated that the total foreign trade trade in China reached 14.14 trillion yuan during the first four months of this year, achieving 2.4% growth on an annual basis.
The authority attributed this growth mainly to the increase in Chinese exports by 7.5% to 8.39 trillion yuan during the period from January to April 2025, while imports recorded a decrease of 4.2% to 5.75 trillion yuan.
