An escalating global trend to include artificial intelligence in education curricula

China is one of the most prominent countries that adopted an ambitious strategy to teach artificial intelligence, as it started in 2018 the application of artificial intelligence curricula in 40 model schools, and worked to develop 14 approved curricula from the Ministry of Education, and train 5,000 specialized teachers.
And the educational authorities in the capital, Beijing, announced, last March, the inclusion of classes for artificial intelligence in the educational curricula of primary and secondary schools starting from the next academic year, noting that schools will devote at least eight hours of artificial intelligence lessons per academic year, as these subjects will be studied either as independent decisions or by integrating them into existing academic subjects such as information technology or science.
In turn, South Korea began since 2022 the adoption of artificial intelligence as a new subject within the learning curricula in local secondary schools, before expanding its teaching within the curricula of kindergarten and primary and middle schools starting this year, in an attempt to enhance preparations for a digital future.
South Korea has developed a plan for educational curricula that include programming, the basic principles of artificial intelligence, methods of use, and ethics, as well as steps towards making higher education colleges provide programs to re -teach artificial intelligence to about 5 thousand teachers by 2025.

Singapore succeeded in turning into a global center to provide artificial intelligence study programs at very high levels that combine modern theories and practical applications, with a focus on automatic learning, robotics and the analysis of huge data.
