The Arab Parliament calls for urgent action to save the children of Gaza from hunger

The Arab Parliament sent urgent messages to the Secretary -General of the United Nations, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Organization (UNICEF), calling for immediate and effective action to save the children of the Gaza Strip from starvation, in light of the continued Israeli aggression. In a statement, today, Sunday, that the humanitarian conditions in the sector have reached unprecedented levels of hunger, severe malnutrition and lack of medicines, noting that the residents of the sector are subject to a systematic starvation policy and forced deprivation of food, water and health care, which constitutes a flagrant violation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, which may rise to war crimes and crimes against humanity. He called for a serious international move before it is too late, to secure permanent and safe humanitarian corridors, and to ensure the introduction of food and medical assistance to the sector without delay, stressing the need to compel the Israeli occupation to respect its legal and humanitarian obligations towards civilians, especially children.
