Sharjah Police warns against leaving precious holdings inside the vehicles

The General Command of Sharjah Police, represented by the Department of Comprehensive Police Centers, launched its awareness campaign under the slogan “Security of your vehicle”, which starts today and continues until the end of this month, and aims to raise the level of awareness among members of society of preventive measures to protect vehicles from negative behaviors, such as transgression or theft.

The Director of the Comprehensive Police Centers Department, Colonel Hamad bin Qasmoul, stressed that leaving the precious holdings in apparent places within the vehicles is one of the negative behaviors that will raise the rates of exposure to theft accidents or tampering with vehicles, explaining that such behavior provides a stimulating environment for illegal exploitation, and constitutes an opportunity for the weak souls to commit their criminal acts.

He explained that the foot patrols through their field duties monitored a number of cases in which some members of society left their personal holdings inside the vehicles without insurance, and in an open manner, such as the wallets of money, mobile phones, and bags; What facilitates the commission of such crimes, and increases the chances of their occurrence.

He pointed to the importance of consolidating the culture of security protection among members of society, enhancing commitment to proper practices, calling on vehicle owners of the need to follow preventive measures, foremost of which is not to leave personal holdings in open places inside the vehicle, choose safe parking sites, and ensure that the doors and windows are closed when they leave, and to install warning devices.

He called on community members to follow the accounts of official leadership through social media platforms; To view the guidelines and periodic directives that it publishes within the framework of the campaign, and stressed that if the vehicle is stolen or tampering with communication through the number 999 for emergency cases, or the number 901 for non -emergency cases, with an emphasis on the importance of not touching the contents of the vehicle until the competent teams arrive; To take the necessary measures.
