"Ambassadors of coexistence" They launch qualitative initiatives for the peace industry among peoples

Abu Dhabi, May 14 / WAM / Dr. Etienne Percteold, Austria’s Ambassador to the UAE, confirmed that the “Coexistence Ambassadors” initiative, organized by a beacon for coexistence and dialogue yesterday evening, at the headquarters of the Sorbonne University-Abu Dhabi, embodies an advanced model in fighting anti-Semitism, violent extremism and hate speech, pointing to the importance of this initiative in building bridges of understanding between cultures And promoting common human values.

He said, in a statement to the Emirates News Agency “WAM”, that the UAE is a strategic partner for Austria, Europe and the West in general in efforts to confront extremism and hate speech, stressing that the Emirati experience is a model to be followed in this field.

Dr. Percteold recalled the organization of his country, in cooperation with the Emirates, last year, a religious and cultural dialogue held at the Abrahamic family home in Abu Dhabi, and formed a successful and influential experience in enhancing understanding between religions and cultures, describing it as a “great success” that can be relied upon as a starting platform to expand the horizons of cooperation and implement similar initiatives in the future.

For his part, Tony Skru, founder and CEO of “Adventure Partners” in California, stressed that the second edition of the “Coexistence Ambassadors” initiative with the participation of students from international universities, which is a global model in enabling young people to develop digital media and social campaigns that enhance the values ​​of coexistence, tolerance and mutual understanding.

He explained in a statement to the Emirates News Agency “WAM”, that the initiative aims to invest the energies of youth through three main programs, each of which seeks to involve them in producing influential content that reflects their vision of more peaceful societies, indicating that the first program bears the name “lights of coexistence”, and depends on preparing an in -depth research paper of approximately 25 pages, dealing with the state of hatred and tolerance in student societies.

He said that the second program, “Coexistence Bridge”, focuses on the production of high -quality videos at the level of Hollywood, dealing with topics such as tolerance, sympathy and social justice, while the third program is “Coexistence Allies”, with a group of 5 to 15 students who play the role of an integrated digital marketing agency and digital media, which includes the fields of research, advertising, graphic design, video production and strategies.

For his part, Priest Bishoy Fakhry, the priest of the Church of the Cathedral of St. Anthony for the Orthodox Copts in Abu Dhabi, expressed his pride and pride in participating in the event of “coexistence ambassadors”, stressing that these initiatives embody supreme values ​​that strengthen the position of the UAE as a global lighthouse for tolerance and coexistence.

He stressed that the participation of young people gives a vital character to such meetings, because of its great role in consolidating the spirit of tolerance and purity in the hearts of future generations, which is the spirit that he described as “immortal and permanent”, and moves from one generation to another simply and spontaneously.

He revealed a qualitative project that is implemented with young people entitled “Peace Maker”, aimed at instilling the concepts of the peace industry for children and their teaching the foundations of this noble human art, noting that the project is witnessing a remarkable development, and expressing its aspiration to exchange these constructive and inspiring ideas within the conference’s work.

In turn, the student, Isaac Kotsio Simon, from the American University of Nigeria, said that he and his team are carrying out a campaign entitled “Ubuntu for peace”, noting that the campaign name is derived from the concept of “Ubuntu”, which belongs to an intellectual background that reflects the spirit of societal, common humanity, and living with peace and coexistence.

He explained that his team is implementing within the campaign conversations for peace, workshops and training within societies and schools, as well as activities to deal with water scarcity as a means of building peace, as well as planting trees in rural areas and schools with the aim of limiting the removal of forests and enhancing afforestation.

For his part, Vin Modita Bhary Thero, a representative of the Monastery of Menshevina Buddhoua Temple in Sri Lanka, explained that the “Coexistence Ambassadors” initiative plays an important role in spreading the message of coexistence, peace and tolerance around the world, noting that the temple is working closely with a beacon center and with members of society to spread this message globally, including in Sri Lanka.

He revealed continuous cooperation with the center to organize a major event soon in Sri Lanka, aimed at consolidating and spreading the values ​​of coexistence, peace and tolerance.
